This is a beautiful Taylor Swift song! I like the Radio Single version better, but I like this one too. This is my 4th favorite of Taylor Swift’s songs!

“Teardrops on my guitar” is the sappy quasi-country song that put blonde beauty Taylor Swift in the national spotlight. That, and dating a Jonas Brother. For a song about unrequited love, it’s pretty painless; it’s comfortably numb. Swift sings without sincerity. With lines like “he’s the wish on my wishing star”,she recycles every cliche. Heck, even Adam Lambert’s take on Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” is more passionate and honest(!!!)
“Teardrops” is to genuine country what the Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland is to medieval Europe. Is it any wonder Swift graced the cover of Rolling Stone, getting treated as country’s next diva?

I’m not even upset with United Airlines but I heard the buzz about this song and had to watch the video myself. One listen and I was hooked. This is a catchy tune and it’s fun to sing along with. It was good to see the artist work quickly to get the song on Amazon as an MP3, to take advantage of the buzz. Can’t wait for song two (there are supposed to be three songs total about this incident) and will check out Sons of Maxwell. Didn’t know this band even existed before this song. Well worth the 99 cents.

What a great way to get back at a company that’s done you wrong. This song is catchy, clever and family-friendly. Carroll could have easily produced an angry rant, but instead he found the humor in the situation and created a hit song in the process. A well-deserved success.
