Should I get the New Macbook or New iMac 20" 2.66ghz?
I am a College student and a long time PC user who wants to switch to Mac. I'm just getting tired of PCs. I produce music, mainly Hip Hop, previously using Fruity Loops now I use Propellerhead Reason 4 and Recycle 2.1. I see Macs everywhere in the Music industry. So I think it would be a good thing if I switched to Mac anyway. I do NOT do any serious photo shop or movie editing work. I wanted to get the New Macbook but propellerhead Recycle 2.1 it just cost too much for so little. Little screen, only 2 usb ports, only a 160gb hard drive, and a 2.0 ghz processor. I know Macs are great Machines but a Macbook Pro cost WAY too much for me. I've been researching for a while now but no one can really give me good advice. No even my roommates and they both own Macs. The iMac recently got beefed up with a faster processor and more memory (2.66ghz and 320gb hard drive) and you can load up to 8bg of ram. But i really don't like desktops these days (yes i've seen the iMac and know that it doesn't take up a lot of space). I really do want a laptop but i'm leaning toward the iMac because just more powerful and holds more than the Macbook. Also if I were to get the iMac, I will be installing more ram DDR3 from 2gb to 4gb!Please can anyone give me some advice. What would the cons be if I went with the Macbook ($1,299) rather than the iMac? How much speed and processing ability would I be losing?
