any tips would be appreciated!-------------Konichiwa! Hello!My name is April, I am a seventeen year old American student and I can't wait to become a new member of your family! I want to go to Japan for every reason possible. From relations to religions, sight-seeing to cuisine, every aspect of Japan I want to soak in. I went to Japan two years ago for two short weeks with my church. We spent most our time helping out a church in Narita so we didn’t get to tour around or get into the culture much. I loved it there but I left with an unsatisfied hunger for more. I feel like I have so much more to learn in Japan, it captivated me right away and I would do anything to be there again. To live with your family would mean I get to experience what life is really like there, a dream of mine. I don't think I could be happier in another place! I am looking forward to meeting a lot of new people over there, but mostly my host family! I can get along with all different types of family members, Computer studio Dynamic and I think my half Korean upbringing will help me here since Japanese and Korean mannerisms are quite similar. I am an animal lover so pets are more than fine with me. I have a white rabbit named Cosmo and two cats named Tango and Iglo. I live at home with my four family members. My father is an electrician who loves tennis and golf a little too much. My mother works at a nail salon but nails are not the only thing she paints. She is also an artist and paints canvases occasionally. My two younger sisters are eight and thirteen years old. Both are interested in gymnastics and are very outgoing kids. We have an interesting family dynamic and have a lot of fun together. My friends and family describe me as optimistic, creative, open minded, outgoing, and relatable. I am always up for a good challenge or adventure and like to spend my time in all different types of hobbies. My interests are mainly around the arts, probably because of my mother. I love photography and film-making and might major in those subjects in college. I also like to write poetry and spoken word. I am on the drama team at my church where we create and perform dramas monthly. Music is also close to me, I have been playing the guitar for four years and the drums for two years now. I like to make and mix music tracks on my computer and used to intern at a recording studio. Being athletic is important in my family as well because of my father who loves sports. I have been playing tennis and soccer for over ten years but decided to concentrate more on my tennis skills. I am the captain of the tennis team at school and also run distance on the track team. This past year I have taken a strong interest in government and politics. I am on model UN, ironically, as a delegate of Japan. I am the class president at school and am active in the student government. International relations may also be a potential major for me.
