Steinberg Cubasis VST 5 and other comparable products?
I need a program that allows me to compose electronic music on the computer. Best Buy was relatively unhelpful; the saleswoman simply directed me to the computer program area and I found Music Maker 15 and Acid Music Studio 7-- both of which are for beginners and do not have the level of detail that I'm steinberg Online Shop seeking. When reading reviews for Music Maker and Acid Music Studio, I stumbled upon a suggestion for the Steinberg Cubasis VST 5. However, not only is this program not being sold, but it supposedly isn't compatible with Windows Vista, my operating system.Does anyone know of any programs that are comparable to Cubasis VST 5 in complexity and price range?Is it true that Cubasis VST 5 won't run on Vista? According to the posted system requirements and the Dell Online Support guy, it should work.Thanks.Ah! One more thing. Supposedly, Cubasis demands an ASIO, which I don't have. Again, according to the Dell Online Tech Support guy, I don't actually need an ASIO because my Integrated Audio Card will suffice.
